If you are buying or selling a home, a home warranty can protect your budget.
With a home warranty like the one at First American, you have more protections than buying a product directly from the manufacturer. If you need additional repairs on your home, you may be able to negotiate a lower price, which means less money out of your pocket.
How to Get a Home Warranty
The homeowner’s insurance industry does not require the homeowner to get a home warranty, and most insurers will not allow the policy to cover repairs outside of the warranty period. In other words, you can’t get a home warranty if your insurance does not cover it.
You can get a homeowner’s insurance policy that covers repairs beyond your policy’s coverage period.
You may be able to get a homeowner’s insurance policy that covers repairs beyond your policy’s coverage period. You may be able to get a policy that covers repairs after your policy expires. That’s because the terms of the insurance policy and the terms of the repairs are negotiated and set at the time of policy approval. When you renew your policy or buy an insurance policy, you may be asked about whether you want to renew or buy the coverage.
